Murals

Our murals can be large or small. They can take hours or days to complete. From small vignettes to large scale epics, we enjoy the challenge of tuning into and transforming environments. They are always fleeting, responding to the moment and the architectural quirks of the site.

We enjoy making visual statements to share with local people and literally drawing them into our work. Our murals evolve through discussions between artists and with passers-by. We feed off the dynamism of working collaboratively.

The selection of Tape Art shown here have been made by the two of us alone or working in collaboration with American tape artist Michael Townsend. We worked with Mike in America before we returned to New Zealand in 1999. None of these works exist today – all were created in a burst of energy and removed 24 hours later (except a few memorial murals, removed when the community was ready.)

More murals can be seen over at Festivals, Corporate & Residencies.
