Residencies
Tape art residencies are typically longer-termed, multi-dimensional programmes that combine our mural-making with more hands-on workshops and sometimes facilitated community murals. They also often involve working in multi-sites in a city to enable us to reach and engage with different people across a community.
Sometimes these happen connected to an arts festival, or as part of a museum education programme, or artists-in-residencies in schools or hospitals.
For example for the Mayfair Festival of the Arts in Allentown, Pennsylvania, we began by running sessions in a series of local schools. Next we made a major mural on a historic building in the downtown area. We then created a small mural drawing elderly residents in a community centre. Lastly, a wall was constructed for us in the middle of the festival grounds. We made two of our own murals on this wall over two days, removing the work each morning. On the final days of the festival we had a community "open wall" and helped families work together to make their own mural.
We are happy to discuss the possibilities for a custom-designed residency.
