About

We are a visual art team who transform urban spaces with temporary drawings created from tape.

Tape Art is an original and playful art medium that relies on the simple idea that tape can be manipulated to form expressive drawing lines. Our works have explored many themes, but are always figurative, often telling stories with open metaphors.

Tape Art murals are always:
Life-Size – designed on a 1:1 scale
Freehand – drawn directly onto walls
Site Specific – original & never repeated
Pictographic – made only of images not words
Improvised – evolving through collaboration
Ephemeral – with a lifespan of only 24 hours

We have co-created over 350 murals internationally. From huge civic creations for festivals and international events, to dynamic community development work, to intimate vignettes in hospitals – we enjoy pushing the edges of our art form.

Currently based in the creative hub of Wellington, New Zealand, we travel internationally to create and share the pleasure of our unique urban glyphs.
